April 14
6 weeks to go
All systems are up and running at the moment and looking forward to taking on the full width of USA for these kids in Providence (below).
The clock has gone an hour forward and there is that extra bit of daylight in the evenings and a chance to get out on the bike midweek. The weather is supposed to be picking up but we just wait patiently. I’m thrilled with the benefit of the work in the gym in Dundrum House Hotel. Previously I didn’t believe in the gym thing –‘why exercise inside when there is fresh air outside to be enjoyed’. I’ve changed my view on that. The gym really focusses the activity. It enabled me to garner maximum benefit from every hour on the road. Even a complete stranger on another machine at the far end is of moral assistance. Last Friday I was there totally on my own (my own private gym !) and it just wasn’t the same.
I’m now regularly hitting the 100km mark on both the Saturday and Sunday cycles and still feeling great on Monday with no pains or stiffness. I know the daily average will be 130km on a day after day after day routine over there but I’m feeling more and more confident of completing the challenge. And I know that I will have the good prayers of the Providence pupils as I cycle along.

Dick,
This is my third attempt today.Had to enlist the help of Kathleen in the end!
Where do you get the time or energy to post such interesting accounts and pictures? By the time you finish you will have a great book - proceeds to Providence.
LC MathsPaper 1 today seemed very hard.Other exams ok.
Latest poll puts No side ahead in Lisbon debate - panic in government circles.
Bertie starring at Mahon Tribunal again- latest fairytale "I won all that sterling by backing horses in England."
Glad you are doing so well
